What is our mission?

We focus primarily on rescuing dogs from the pounds around Ireland so they can spend their time in a comfortable foster environment, rather than a cold cell. We help rehabilitate the dogs so they become the best dog they can be. You can read more about our story here.

How can people help?

We are always on the lookout for new foster homes as that means we can help more dogs. If you fancy having a puppy in the house again, or an older dog that would like some home comforts and cuddles, then we’d love to hear from you. Contact us via the link and we’ll get in touch with more information. If you aren’t in a position to foster then any donation you can possibly make will make a huge difference to the lives of our dogs.

How much does it cost to adopt a dog from us?

Our adoption fee is only £150. This covers all the veterinary treatment each of our new dogs require, typically micro-chipping, flea treatment, worming treatment, spay/neutering and any other treatment required when in foster care.

What’s the typical process of adopting a dog from us?

Once our foster families have decided a rescued dog is ready for their forever home, we will post the details of the dogs both on the website and on our Facebook page. If you find a dog you are interested in then you will complete the adoption application form found on the “Apply to Adopt” link above. 

Once we have reviewed your application form we will get in touch to arrange a home visit. Here one of our team will visit your home for a quick cup of tea, answer any questions you may have and double check that the garden is secure enough for our escape artist pups!

Once the home check is passed you will have the opportunity to visit the dog in its foster home, and learn more about the dog from its foster family. It can be useful to introduce the dog to any pets you already have at home at this stage also. 

If everyone is happy to proceed the only thing left is to sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee and welcome your new dog into your family!

What’s the difference between fostering and adopting?

Our foster families are a temporary home for the dog, while it adjusts to life outside of the pound and learns its home comforts! The foster families will keep the dog until it finds its forever family and is adopted. It can be a bittersweet time for the foster families when a dog is adopted, but although they’ll miss them, they know the dog will have a wonderful life in its new home. And normally the new owners keep in touch with updates!

How many dogs do we have in our care?

As you know there is no shortage of dogs in the pound, so we have a steady stream of new dogs coming into foster as soon as others are adopted. All our dogs available for rehoming can be found on the homepage. We would love to have even more in our care, the more foster homes we have available the more dogs we can rescue.

Why can we not rehome to homes with children under the age of five?

We understand that some people are frustrated as they cannot adopt from us when they have children in the home under the age of five. The reason for this is these are rescue dogs, we have no idea of their background or how they react around children. For those safety reasons we unfortunately have to be very strict about this requirement.
